“There are many treasures to find on Dartmoor, one of which is Emma Cunis of Dartmoors Daughter! Coming from a family of Dartmoor guides, she eats sleeps and breathes the land and is a treasure trove of information and history. But, in my opinion, what sets her apart, is that she intimately knows, and can introduce people, to the real spirit of moors. My wife and i had visited the area that Emma took us, many times, and yet we had only discovered a fraction of what was there!Emma is someone who cares, and this applies to both the land, and to the welfare of her guests. Everyones needs were tended to, and she can effortlessly adapt an itinerary accordingly. We had a fantastic day, enjoying rain and shine, and thoroughly recommend you seek out Dartmoor’s Daughter.”

What people are saying...

Amazing experience

Absolutely love these walks with Emma. She is a wonderful guide and the terrain is just spectacular. Would absolutely recommend these walks as a must for anyone wanting to explore Dartmoor.”

A yomp of discovery

Emma patiently and clearly explained the basics of orienteering - taking bearings, leapfrogging through fog, pacing, timing - and by the end, I was sodden and cold... but I was liberated. Finally free. For the first time in my life, I now knew where I was. This may sound crazy, but it is true. This is a course in existential discovery. You learn to see and hear nature, as if for the first time. And to finally feel like you know where you are in the world.”

Navigating with the mind and the body

Emma strikes the rare and perfect balance between an intuitive/embodied approach and a pragmatic/skilled approach to navigating landscapes. I felt calm and safe, whilst being taught essential skills in a really clear and engaged way. I would highly recommend Emma for learning about the history of this ancient place on Dartmoor, for learning navigating skills or for experiencing it all through the senses with a skilled guide and facilitator.”
