Thank you for viewing our website, walking with us, working with us, or receiving our newsletter. This notice explains what we do with information we collect from you. By providing personal information such as your name and email address via the forms on our website or booking systems, you agree to us contacting you with regard to the information you request.

If you have any questions about this notice please contact us via email at info@dartmoorsdaughter.com. We may change this notice from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page periodically to ensure you are happy with any changes.

Visiting our website & cookies

When using most websites, including this one, the pages you see, along with a short text file called a ‘cookie’, are downloaded to your computer. Many websites do this, because cookies facilitate useful features such as the ability to identify whether a user has successfully logged into the site, or to find out whether the computer (and probably its user) has visited the website before. Information gathered via cookies helps us to ensure the website works correctly, and this data will not be used to gather any personally identifiable information. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

We may also use the third party applications (such as Google Analytics) to monitor visitor behaviour on the website which also use cookies as above.

Information we obtain when you walk with us

When you book onto a walk with us, we usually require some information from you for ticketing purposes, and we also ask for you to provide us with any relevant medical information. We will use this information to communicate with you about your walk or event and any payments that are made, and we require any third-party booking platforms to comply with relevant data protection legislation. We will not keep your information for any longer than is required.

Sometimes, we like to take photographs of our walks and events to share with you and our Dartmoor’s Daughter community. Please let us know if you prefer not to have your or any of your party's photograph taken or shared.

Other ways we might obtain personal information

We may gather personal information if you complete an post-event survey or review, or via email, social media messaging, telephone, post, or in person. At all times we undertake to protect your personal data in a way which is consistent with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) concerning data protection.  We will take reasonable security measures to protect your personal data storage.

Collaborating with others

We work with other experts in the field to bring you amazing Dartmoor experiences, and sometimes it may be necessary to share limited details with our co-hosts. We will not share any information that isn't necessary to cater to the needs of our walk and event attendees, and our collaborators will not share or use this information outside of the walk or event that has been booked onto, unless you specifically request otherwise.

As Dartmoor's Daughter is a very small business, we sometimes work with other third party organisations or contractors, who may have access to some of Dartmoor's Daughter's customer information. They will be required to take suitable steps to protect this data, and together we will take the issue of people's personal data protection very seriously.

Our newsletter mailing list

We will only send you marketing emails with Dartmoor news and information on our upcoming walks, events and services if you have opted in to receive the newsletter. Every newsletter will give the option to unsubscribe.

Security

The security of your personal information is very important to us. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable systems to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Any questions about your personal information?

Please email info@dartmoorsdaughter.com detailing the nature of your question or request and we will respond and act within 15 working days.
